More About the Sherman TV Training Kit
How it works:
Three progressive techniques are used, depending upon the patient’s fusional status.
Technique 1: The larger red sheet in the kit is used to cover the TV screen. Here the patient wears the green/red filter glasses with the red lens removed and the green lens over the stronger eye. This encourages the weaker eye to function, since the filter blocks the TV image from the stronger eye but not the surrounding environment.
Technique 2: The smaller red sheet in the kit is taped to the center of the TV screen, covering the middle but not peripheral areas. Here again the patient wears the green/red filters with the red lens removed and the green lens over the stronger eye to encourage the weaker eye to function.
Technique 3: The top half of the TV screen is covered by the green sheet, and the lower half is covered by the red sheet. The patient wears the red/green filter glasses with both filters.
