1100   Ophthalmic Telebinocular

The Keystone Ophthalmic Telebinocular is the accepted pioneer instrument of modern binocular vision testing and training. It’s one of the most versatile units ever developed.

Used with Keystone stereoscopic target slides, the Telebinocular offers a convenient approach to a wide variety of services and techniques.

For example, the Keystone visual skills technique, utilizing the 5100 skills test set, is the most widely-used method of determining basic vision patterns before refraction. Many other specialized tests are also offered.

With the Professional Performance Tests and similar investigative materials, the instrument becomes a valuable diagnostic tool, as well. In a number of cases, it may even be used for direct prescribing.

The Telebinocular is a valuable orthoptic instrument for training in accommodation amplitude, alleviating imbalances, improving fusion and enhancing stereopsis.

The height of the instrument’s viewing head is adjustable. (Any desired position can be preserved through the use of the locking device.) The head is counter-balanced for smooth, precise movement through a 6-1/2 inch range, greater than that of any similar unit.

The Keystone Ophthalmic Telenbinocular also features a double lens holder which can accommodate two trial case lenses at once.

The instrument measures just 7-1/2 inches wide by 14-1/2 inches long. It is available in either 110 or 220 volts.

Target Cards and record forms must be ordered seperately.

  • Completely self-contained and easy to use, the Telebinocular is designed for reliability, also. Little or no maintenance is ever required. And, at 14 pounds, the unit is easily moved to any convenient location in or out of the office.
  • As many as twenty stereo targets, including split targets, can be placed in the instrument’s card holder at one time. They can be freely interchanged at any point during testing or training. The targets are accessible from the top and both sides, permitting free use of a pointer. A built-in lamp provides even, controlled illumination of targets during use.
  • The patient views the targets directly through +5.0 D doublet lenses. There are no front surface mirrors to break, scratch or replace. The lenses are corrected for chromatic and spherical aberrations. And no adjustments are needed to accommodate varying P.D.’s.
  • The twin shafts on which the card holder moves are fully calibrated; the Ophthalmic Telebinocular is not limited to only near and far point testing and training. Each number on the scale marks a 0.25 D change or accommodation.
